About Orbel

Orbel is an AI therapy companion — a text-based conversational tool designed to provide empathetic, supportive dialogue. It is not a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, or medical professional of any kind.

Orbel does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of self-harm, or any medical emergency, please contact:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988
  • Crisis Text Line — text HOME to 741741
  • Emergency services — call 911 (or your local emergency number)

By using Orbel, you acknowledge that the AI-generated responses are not a substitute for professional mental health care.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Orbel, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Orbel. These terms apply to all users of the service, including free and paid tiers.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Orbel. This aligns with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and California's SOPIPA legislation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 13, we will delete that account and all associated data.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, contact us at privacy@orbel-ai.polsia.app.

Account Registration

You may sign up for an Orbel account with a username and password. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful behavior.

Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Orbel to:

  • Generate content that is harassing, defamatory, or hateful toward any individual or group
  • Share content related to imminent self-harm or suicide with the intent of causing harm
  • Attempt to circumvent safety filters or exploit vulnerabilities in the AI
  • Use the service to facilitate illegal activity
  • Impersonate any person, entity, or organization
  • Collect or harvest information from other users without consent
  • Resell or redistribute Orbel's AI responses as your own

Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.

AI-Generated Content and Limitation of Liability

Orbel's AI responses are generated by a language model. While we strive for helpful, accurate, and empathetic responses, we cannot guarantee that any AI-generated content is complete, reliable, or suitable for your specific situation.

Orbel and its operators shall not be liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from:

  • Reliance on AI-generated advice or information
  • Decisions made based on Orbel's responses
  • Content generated while using the service
  • Any inability to access or use the service

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Paid Subscriptions and Billing

Orbel Plus ($9.99/month) and Pro ($19.99/month) are recurring subscription plans billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges on the payment method you provide.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled
  • You may cancel at any time from the Settings page — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • When you cancel, you keep access to Plus/Pro features through the end of the paid period
  • No refunds for partial months — cancellation ends future billing, not past charges
  • Plan pricing is subject to change; we will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase

Account Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Use the service in a manner that harms other users or the platform
  • Attempt to breach security or exploit system vulnerabilities
  • Engage in fraudulent activity

Termination does not entitle you to a refund. We may preserve account data as required by law.

Intellectual Property

Orbel's name, logo, design, and content are property of Orbel and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you submit, but you grant us a limited license to store and process that content to deliver the service.

AI-generated responses are generated dynamically and are not attributable to any individual intellectual property claim.

Third-Party Services

Orbel uses third-party services including OpenAI (for AI text generation) and Stripe (for payment processing). These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the data practices of third-party providers.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to affected users and/or by posting the revised terms on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Orbel after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of California.
